Sommaire du contenu
This course focuses on the integration of technology in second language teaching and learning. Students will examine current theories and practices related to the use of digital tools for developing and assessing language skills and components. The course explores technology from a teacher's perspective, considering its role in learning and assessment as well as in administrative tasks. This includes multimedia and video-based sources for authentic content (e.g., podcasts, vlogs, streaming), resources for content generation (e.g., AI, corpora, Lextutor) material creation (e.g., Canva, PowerPoint), and class administration (e.g., classroom management and e-learning platforms). Digital assessment tools will also be critically analysed for formative and summative evaluation purposes. Students will also explore how technology supports learner autonomy through resources for oral and written practice (e.g., language apps, pen pal platforms), metalinguistic awareness (e.g., grammar checkers, translators), and immediate feedback (e.g., generative AI, interactive activities). Additionally, the course emphasizes evaluating the pedagogical effectiveness of technology, ensuring its alignment with learning objectives and fair assessment practices. By the end of the course, students will be equipped to integrate and critically assess technology to enhance language learning and motivation.
