Objectifs
This supervised practice in teaching English as a second language at the primary, secondary, or adult level enables students holding a long-term teaching contract to consolidate their professional knowledge and apply their teaching skills in real classroom settings. A dedicated university team provides support throughout the experience. During this supervised practice, students are expected to demonstrate their ability to assume full responsibility for ESL teaching duties, in accordance with the expectations of their level of training.

This course deepens students' understanding of the Ministry of Education's ESL programs and addresses various levels of pedagogical planning, including long-term planning, weekly planning, and the design of teaching and learning sequences. It emphasizes strategies that promote student engagement and address classroom diversity. Special attention is given to assessing student competencies, with the aim of designing and implementing effective assessment tools. The course also highlights the importance of collaboration within the school team, fostering effective communication and cooperation among staff members. Finally, it explores strategies for building strong and lasting relationships between the school and families.

Modalité d'enseignement
Ce cours inclut 5 séminaires de 3 heures ainsi que des moments d'accompagnement individualisés.
Stage d'une durée de 500 heures se déroulant entre les mois de septembre et d'avril dans un contrat comportant un minimum de 50% de tâche en enseignement de l'anglais, langue seconde.
