Sommaire du contenu
This course focuses on designing tasks and activities to develop L2 listening and speaking skills. Students will explore theoretical models alongside effective approaches and techniques for teaching and evaluating listening, speaking, and interaction. The course also emphasizes metacognition (e.g., reflection, strategy use), fluency development (e.g., extensive listening), links between oral and written modalities (e.g., subtitles and dictations) and focus on form (e.g., corrective feedback). The course equips students with the ability to design and adapt texts, tasks, and activities suitable for diverse ages, proficiency levels, and individual learner differences. Additionally, it addresses fostering enjoyment, encouraging willingness to communicate, and mitigating language-related anxiety. Students will also engage in reflective practices with the intent of understanding a task's effectiveness in the different contexts in which it is used, and leveraging information and communication technologies to enhance learning outcomes.
