Description du cours
- Cycle : 1
- Type de cours : Magistral
- Nombre de crédits : 3
- Discipline : Didactique des langues
Objectifs
The overall objective is to equip students with the theoretical and practical knowledge necessary to design, adapt and evaluate language learning tasks based on task-based language teaching principles and second language acquisition research. By the end of this course, students will be able to:
- critically examine the theoretical foundations of task-based language teaching and apply these principles to the design and adaptation of language learning tasks,
- create and modify effective tasks that can integrate multiple modalities and components,
- assess the effectiveness of different tasks using SLA theory, providing reasoned justifications for their pedagogical decisions.
Sommaire du contenu
This course provides an in-depth exploration of task-based language teaching in second language learning. Through a task-based approach, students will analyze, evaluate, adapt, and design tasks that integrate multiple language skills (reading, writing, listening, and speaking) and language components (grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation). Current topics in task-based research that focus on tasks in terms of sequencing, complexity and implementation (e.g., repetition, participant distribution), and their impact on language learning and performance (complexity, accuracy and fluency), will be addressed.
